Parameter preserving Model Order Reduction of a Flow Meter

چکیده
Model order reduction techniques are known to work reliably for finite-element-type simulations of MEMS devices. These techniques can tremendously shorten computational times for transient and harmonic analyses. However, standard model reduction techniques cannot be applied if the equation system incorporates timevarying matrices or parameters that are to be preserved for the reduced model. At the same time, if one aims at automatic compact model generation it is most likely that there are parameters that have to be preserved. In this paper we demonstrate a method, based on a multivariant Padé-type expansion, that can preserve scalar parameters or functions during the reduction process. We show that this method is applicable to convectiondiffusion type problems. As a technical example we investigate a micro anemometer.

Parameter Preserving Model Reduction for MEMS System-level Simulation and Design
Abstract. Model reduction is a very helpful tool to generate compact models for system-level simulation. Quite often however, system matrices depend on design parameters and the new goal is not only to reduce the original system but also to preserve system parameters in the symbolic form during model reduction. We introduce multivariate moment matching as a possible solution to this problem. We...
متن کاملRobust Fixed-order Gain-scheduling Autopilot Design using State-space Stability-Preserving Interpolation
In this paper, a robust autopilot is proposed using stable interpolation based on Youla parameterization. The most important condition of stable interpolation between local controllers is the preservation of stability so that each local controller can ensure stability for an open neighborhood around a nominal point. The proposed design used fixed-order robust controller with parameter-dependent...
متن کاملUnsteady Magneto Hydro Dynamic Flow of a Second Order Fluid over an Oscillating Sheet with a Second Order Slip Flow Model
Unsteady slip-flow of second grade non-Newtonian electrically conducting fluid over an oscillating sheet has been considered and solved numerically. A second-order slip velocity model is used to predict the flow characteristic past the wall. With the assumption of infinite length in x-direction, velocity of the fluid can be assumed as a function of y and t, hence, with proper variable change pa...

This paper describes a flexible and efficient new algorithm for model order reduction of parameterized systems. The method is based on the reformulation of the parameterized system as a perturbation-like parallel interconnection of the nominal transfer function and the non-parameterized transfer function sensitivities with respect to the parameter variations. Such a formulation reveals an expli...
متن کاملEXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION OF DRAG REDUCTION ON AHMED MODEL USING A COMBINATION OF ACTIVE FLOW CONTROL METHODS
Aerodynamic drag is an important factor in vehicles fuel consumption. Pressure drag which is the main component of total drag is a result of boundary layer separation from vehicle surface. Flow control methods are applied to avoid or at least delay separation. Depending upon whether these methods consume energy to control the flow or not, they are called active or passive control methods. In th...
